Nicki Allan appeared Live at Bramham Village Hall on February 19th
2005 with a 6-piece strong blues/soul line up, performing some of
the finest blues/soul/jazz music. The band featured excellent
musicians; Backing Vocals from Lisa Crawford
, Gary Hudson on guitar, Andy Cholerton on keys, Paul Smith on drums
and Gary Symons on bass guitar. They supported American rockers,
Loserville who are over promoting their new album.
The event was a resounding success for the Nicki Allan Band. The crowd went wild
with support as the band played through a collection of Aretha Franklin, Joss
Stone, Eva Cassidy, Led Zeppelin, etc. as well as some of Nicki's own material.
The whole evening was a great success, organised by Bramham's own answer to ''Mean
Fiddler promotions' , Keith Robinson. They raised through ticket sales a formidable
profit which went towards the Tsunami Disaster Appeal through funding a local
doctor to fly over and give his help to the victims in Thailand. The headlining
band, Loserville, a swedish outfit, closed the show with an energetic, rousing
set that had the crowds dancing and cheering. Everybody
went home happy - what more could you ask on a gig?
